As a parent, it can be a challenge to trust your child’s well-being to a team of dental professionals for the first time. Of course, you want your little one to have a healthy smile. But how is the dentist going to approach your child? Does he understand how special your child is?

Each Child Is Unique

Of course we do! Temple, TX pediatric dentist Dr. Richard Leung has years of experience in helping kids feel safe and secure in our caring environment. As a parent himself, Dr. Leung understands that children are not just little adults and treats each of them as the unique individuals they are.

We have found that the best approach is slow and easy. There’s no point in rushing into dental treatment before a child is ready. All kids are different; some will respond quickly and others take more time to feel secure in a new setting.

Kids Should Enjoy Dental Care

The most important thing is to develop a trusting relationship with your child so they feel secure enough with us to let us perform basic dental treatments. There’s no reason for any child to look at dental care as anything other than a positive part of their young lives.

Pretty soon they will see that they are in a safe place with people who care about them. This makes all the difference to their feelings about oral health care now and long into adulthood.

Temple, TX dentist Dr. Leung and our pediatric team would love to meet your child and start them off on the road to a lifetime of happy and healthy smiles. Please give us a call!
