Dr. Richard Leung
Dr. Rich is a native of California, and it has always been his desire to provide quality dental care in a comfortable and relaxing environment. He graduated from the University of California in Riverside in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business. After practicing financial consulting for five years, Dr. Rich went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009 from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Rich’s clinical skills stood out early on as faculty recognized his passion for dentistry and commitment to ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
Since earning his DDS, Dr. Rich has carried the same dedication to excellence into his career. He has pursued advanced level training in numerous areas. Some of these are cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, Invisalign, and sedation dentistry. Dr. Rich is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society and International Association for Orthodontics.
As the owner of Temple Dental Trails and Lakewood Dental Trails, Dr. Rich brings all his knowledge and skills to our neighborhood, always working hard to maintain a high standard of care and office organization. When it comes to dentistry, patient comfort and experience are as important to Dr. Rich as the quality of care he delivers.
Dr. Rich is known for his gentle touch, compassionate nature, and skill. His passion is helping his patients overcome their dental fears. He also loves helping others feel better about their smiles, and he enjoys knowing all of his patients personally.
In his personal life, Dr. Rich has several hobbies, including basketball, weight training, taekwondo, and video games. He is an avid athlete as well as a caring father. Focusing on the family is an important part of our practice philosophy and culture. Dr. Rich looks forward to getting to know you and your family!
Brenna Sura, DDS
Dr. Brenna Sura received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery with distinction from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
As an associate at Temple Dental Trails, Dr. Sura brings a passion for new technology and advances in cosmetic dentistry. She knows that improving the esthetics of a smile not only has a direct effect on self-confidence, but showing off new teeth requires a smile, and smiling is good for the soul!
Dr. Sura also loves having the opportunity to form unique lifelong relationships and provide care for a large variety of patients. Most patients she sees struggle with some degree of dental anxiety, so it is always fulfilling to grow trust and help patients work through their fears for the betterment of their dental and overall health.
Dr. Sura’s dedication to excellence has earned her several awards including:
- T. Schoeni Wolfe, DDS Memorial Award – granted by UTHSCSA School of Dentistry to the top dental student who displays exceptional patient-centered care and significant motivation and perseverance during dental school.
- The International Congress of Oral Implantology Pre-Doctoral Student Achievement Award – awarded to a graduating dental student for recognition of interest and commitment to oral implantology and implant dentistry.
Dr. Sura is a native of Austin and enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Brett, and their dog, Riley. She also likes to play soccer, hike, and travel to new places.
Dr. Wei-Yen Chang
Dr. Wei-Yen Chang graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor of science degree, then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from New York University.
Dr. Chang sees dentistry as a gratifying career that allows him to create confident new smiles for his patients. He helps them make informed decisions by presenting thorough and detailed treatment options. Dr. Chang’s compassionate nature and desire to understand his patients’ individual needs allows him to serve our community with personalized dental care that has a positive effect on their lives.
Before joining Temple Dental Trails, Dr. Chang practiced in Roswell, GA for nine years and was a Certified Course Director of AIC Implant training course in Atlanta. He finds it a pleasure to work at our office with a great team of professionals who genuinely care about patients’ dental needs and are great at their jobs.
Dr. Chang grew up in Atlanta, GA, and he and his wife Jennifer have been married for 16 years. They have two children, Kaylee, age 13, and Brandon, age 7.
Dr. Chang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
Dr. Ross Brenner
Dr. Ross Brenner became an orthodontist because he wanted to give people beautiful smiles. Dr. Brenner believes a beautiful smile gives people the confidence to do anything in this world.
Dr. Brenner obtained his bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. He went on to attend IU’s School of Dentistry, where he graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with Highest Distinction. During this time. Dr. Brenner founded the Digital Dentistry Club and was also a member of the Theta Theta Chapter, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society.
With a strong interest in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Brenner was motivated to pursue his master's degree and board certification from St. Louis University. Board certification in a particular specialty demonstrates a practitioner’s exceptional expertise in that area.
Because of his strong desire to give back to his community, Dr. Brenner also held a fellowship position with the Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis as a general dentist, providing care to an underserved pediatric population four to five days per month.
Having previously worked in private practices in St. Louis, Dr. Ross Brenner is excited to join the Temple Dental Trails team and will divide his time between our Temple and Lakewood dental offices.
In his spare time, Dr. Brenner loves to sing and play the guitar, go hiking, go to restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife Nikoleta have one dog named Bear, and they love the Texas Hill Country.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Glenda has over 40 years in the dental field as both a dental assistant and registered dental hygienist. She is originally from Sikestown, Missouri, and has lived in Central Texas since 2004.
Glenda is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where she received her bachelor's degree in applied science, dental hygiene. Glenda loves treating her patients with care, educating them about their oral health needs, and providing them with the best dental cleaning possible.
Glenda loves spending her spare time boating on the lake with her husband. When she can’t get outside, she enjoys painting.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Noelle attended Henderson Community College, where she received her associate degree in dental hygiene in 2006. With a desire to continue her education in the field, Noelle went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from Western Kentucky University in 2011.
A native of Massillon, OH, Noelle was drawn to dental hygiene because of her desire to help patients improve their lives by maintaining their oral health.
Outside of work, Noelle is the proud parent of two indoor cats named Hunnie and Khloe, and one outdoor cat named Smoke. Noelle has a severe case of wanderlust, so traveling is her passion, and her goal is to travel to every continent in her lifetime. She also enjoys going to concerts and other events and spending time with friends and family. However, Noelle values her “me time” and doing absolutely nothing.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Melissa has been working in the dental field since 2002 and joined Temple Dental Trails in 2019. She has always loved dentistry and knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist since her junior year of high school. In 2009, she realized her dream when she graduated from Temple College with her Associates of Applied Science degree and began her career as a registered dental hygienist.
Melissa takes pride in connecting with her patients and building long-lasting relationships while providing the best care possible for them. Dentistry is not a "one-size-fits-all" process, and Melissa treats each of her patients as an individual with unique needs.
A native of the Temple area, Melissa loves the fantastic team she is blessed to work alongside. She appreciates the upbeat atmosphere of our office and the exceptional patient experience our team strives to deliver to our patients. With every patient’s visit, Melissa loves being a part of something this special!
Melissa has been married for 20 years to TJ, her high school sweetheart and best friend. He serves in the US Air Force Security Forces, and she is a very proud military wife. They are blessed with two sons named Kobe and Kolson and two daughters named Kenley and Kyleigh.
When she’s not at work or attending her kiddos’ academic and sporting events, Melissa loves to Pinterest, and she and her husband are avid DIYers.
Kristian has been working in the field of dentistry since 2010. She started her career as a dental assistant and is now one of our skilled hygienists. Kristian attended Temple College, where she received an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.
Dental hygiene has always been a passion for Kristian because she enjoys educating patients on their oral health and how to care for their teeth in the best way possible. She loves helping people enjoy coming to the dentist and treating each of them like family.
A native of Belton, TX, Kristian is married to her high school sweetheart Rene, and they have two children—Raleigh and Maddex, and a Golden Retriever mix named Teddy Bear Ayala. The family enjoys spending time with the kids, either playing sports, swimming or relaxing. Kristian also likes to exercise during the week with coworkers and hanging out with friends.
Becca is originally from Fayetteville, NC and has lived in Central Texas since 2008. She is a treatment coordinator at Temple Dental Trails and has been with us since 2016. Becca loves building relationships with patients to ensure a great dental experience. She always has a bright smile and warm greeting waiting for you.
Becca is currently attending Tarleton State University, where she is studying for her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She is a “people person” who loves interacting with and getting to know her patients. Becca enjoys the family environment of the office and considers the team her extended family.
As an Army "brat,” she and her family lived in many different places while she was growing up. Outside of the practice, Becca spends time with her friends and family, enjoys teaching her sons new things and baking desserts. She also enjoys horseback riding, and reading.
Samantha attended Contra Costa College in San Pablo, CA, and started with Temple Dental Trails in November 2019. She has spent a total of 25 years working in the dental field because she loves helping her patients smile again with confidence. Samantha takes pride in helping her patients understand their treatment and the benefits, as well as helping them with finances so they can keep their smiles beautiful.
A California native, Samantha now lives in Copperas Cove, TX with her amazing husband, Kevin. She has a beautiful stepdaughter, Kylie, who is a senior at Copperas Cove High School. In 2016, they built their forever home, and Samantha’s dad moved to Texas from California to live with them.
Outside of work, Samantha is an avid bowler and participates in the women's state bowling tournament every June.
Registered Dental Assistant
Alexandra joined Temple Dental Trails in 2016. She loves making her patients feel comfortable during their time with us as well as seeing the dramatic changes in their smiles and confidence. She has been in the dental field since 2013, and we are happy to have her on our team.
Alex grew up in the Temple area and graduated from Rogers High School. She received her registered dental assistant license from Texas State Technical College in Waco, where she made the Dean’s list. Alex stays current with continuing education courses and enjoys learning as much as she can.
When she’s not busy helping our patients, Alex enjoys being a mother, working out and spending time with her family and friends.
Registered Dental Assistant
Alyssa was born in Wooster, Ohio and moved to Belton as a teenager. We are pleased to have her on our team as a Registered Dental Assistant. She has a heart for dentistry and brings an amazing skill set to our team. She loves being able to help people feel better about their smiles and themselves.
Alyssa received her professional training from the Training Center for Healthcare Careers in Harker Heights and has been in the dental field since 2015. She loves to interact with her patients and see their smiles transform with their overall health. Alyssa also holds a nitrous oxide certification.
She loves calling Temple Dental Trails her second home and says her team is full of people with huge hearts, huge smiles, and who genuinely care about their patients and staff.
Alyssa is married to her best friend and together that have a daughter. In her spare time, Alyssa loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys going on adventures, camping, crafting, cooking, working, and finding things to do within the community.
Registered Dental Assistant
Haley is a native of Temple, TX and is a graduate of Temple Dental Assistant School. She has been working in the field of dentistry since 2017.
Haley believes that a smile says a lot about an individual, and it is usually the first thing people notice. She wants her patients to achieve their personal goals in life and believes that having a healthy, beautiful smile can help.
As a mom to two beautiful boys, Jase and Clayton, Haley doesn’t have much free time! But when she does, she and her fiancé love fishing and camping with their boys and with friends who also have boys. Haley and her fiancé also belong to a pool league team that meets for practice and tournaments on their free nights.
Registered Dental Assistant
Celestina attended Temple Dental Assistant School to become a registered dental assistant and joined Temple Dental Trails in 2019. She is also certified in nitrous oxide sedation.
Celestina chose the field of dentistry because her mother was a dental assistant. She remembers spending a lot of time at the dental office as a child and loving every bit of it. Her favorite part of dentistry is being able to help change a patient’s negative perception of themselves by recreating a smile that they love and feel comfortable with. Celestina also loves being able to truly connect with her patients and build relationships.
Celestina was born and raised in Temple, TX. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching movies with her fiancé Jose, and painting with her daughter Amiia.
Ruby attended Waco Dental Assistant School for her training and has been working in the dental field since 2017. A native of Bruceville-Eddy, TX, Ruby loves working with our patients and helping them achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. She hopes to expand her education one day by becoming a dental hygienist and continuing to help our patients maintain excellent oral health.
In her personal life, Ruby enjoys quality spending time with her husband and family.
We welcomed Jamal to Temple Dental Trails in February, 2020. He is currently enrolled at Temple College with the goal of obtaining a degree in computer science. Jamal enjoys dentistry because he likes a hands-on approach and the opportunity the field offers him to grow and expand different skillsets
Jamal was born in San Diego and raised in Temple. A self-professed "active nerd," Jamal earned his first Dan black belt in Taekwondo, with the hopes of getting his second degree soon. When he's not being active, Jamal is at home relaxing, either playing video games or watching movies.
