Dr. Rich | Temple TX

Dr. Rich, DDS

Dr. Rich is a native of California, and it has always been his desire to provide quality dental care in a comfortable and relaxing environment. He graduated from the University of California in Riverside in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business. After practicing financial consulting for five years, Dr. Rich went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009 from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Rich’s clinical skills stood out early on as faculty recognized his passion for dentistry and commitment to ensuring patient comfort and well-being.

Since earning his DDS, Dr. Rich has carried the same dedication to excellence into his career. He has pursued advanced level training in numerous areas. Some of these are cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, Invisalign, and sedation dentistry. Dr. Rich is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society and International Association for Orthodontics.

As the owner of Temple Dental Trails and Lakewood Dental Trails, Dr. Rich brings all his knowledge and skills to our neighborhood, always working hard to maintain a high standard of care and office organization. When it comes to dentistry, patient comfort and experience are as important to Dr. Rich as the quality of care he delivers.

Dr. Rich is known for his gentle touch, compassionate nature, and skill. His passion is helping his patients overcome their dental fears. He also loves helping others feel better about their smiles, and he enjoys knowing all of his patients personally.

In his personal life, Dr. Rich has several hobbies, including basketball, weight training, taekwondo, and video games. He is an avid athlete as well as a caring father. Focusing on the family is an important part of our practice philosophy and culture. Dr. Rich looks forward to getting to know you and your family!

Dr. Erin Kern

Dr. Kern is a native of Holland, Texas and is excited to provide exceptional dental care to the Central Texas community where she was born and raised. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction in Dental Education from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Dr. Kern’s passion for dentistry began at a very young age after having numerous positive experiences as a patient. As a result, she strives to positively affect her patient’s lives by improving their dental health and instilling confidence in their smiles. Her commitment to lifelong learning has translated into a strong dedication to provide the highest quality dental care using the newest technologies and techniques. Dr. Kern enjoys meeting new people and building relationships with her patients, taking into consideration that each patient is unique and requires compassionate, individualized care.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kern likes spending time with her friends and family, being outdoors as much as possible, and listening to true crime podcasts. She and her husband Chase have one cat named Mya, and they love binge-watching Netflix shows.​

Dr. Ross Brenner

We are so excited for you to meet our newest smile expert, Dr. Ross Brenner. He became an orthodontist because he wanted to give people beautiful smiles. Dr. Brenner believes a beautiful smile gives people the confidence to do anything in this world.

Dr. Brenner obtained his bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. He went on to attend IU’s School of Dentistry, where he graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with Highest Distinction. During this time. Dr. Brenner founded the Digital Dentistry Club and was also a member of the Theta Theta Chapter, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society. 

With a strong interest in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Brenner was motivated to pursue his master's degree and board certification from St. Louis University. Board certification in a particular specialty demonstrates a practitioner’s exceptional expertise in that area.

Because of his strong desire to give back to his community, Dr. Brenner also held a fellowship position with the Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis as a general dentist, providing care to an underserved pediatric population four to five days per month.

Having previously worked in private practices in St. Louis, Dr. Ross Brenner is excited to join the Temple Dental Trails team and will divide his time between our Temple and Lakewood dental offices. 

In his spare time, Dr. Brenner loves to sing and play the guitar, go hiking, go to restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife, Nikoleta have 1 dog named Bear and they love the Texas Hill Country. 

We are happy to welcome Dr. Brenner and look forward to introducing him to our patients.

Dr. David Vu

Dr. David Vu is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and the scope of services he provides ranges from simple tooth extractions to complete facial reconstruction. He is also trained in plastic surgery, which augments his skills in reconstruction with a cosmetic skillset.

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons require a minimum of four years of hospital-based training after dental school. With a strong desire to make a dramatic difference in people's lives, he attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for his medical training. He also completed his oral and maxillofacial residency at UTSMC in 2013 and his plastic surgery residency in 2016.

Dr. Vu plays a significant role at Temple Dental Trails, offering simple and surgical tooth extractions, impacted wisdom teeth removal, dental implant placement, jaw and TMJ surgery, and injectables, including BOTOX ® and fillers.

For Dr. Vu, the most satisfying aspects of working as a surgeon are identifying a patient's needs and offering solutions that address all of their concerns. He also enjoys the instant gratification of the results he can obtain from a surgical procedure.

Dr. Vu enjoys working on cars and home improvement projects, watching movies, and playing video games in his free time.


Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Lindsey has been working in the dental profession since 2006 and joined Temple Dental Trails in 2020. A native of Covina, California, she attended Citrus Community College in Glendora, where she received an associate’s degree in dental assisting and child development. Lindsey then attended Concorde Career College in San Bernardino, where she graduated with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene in 2012. 

Lindsey enjoys the dental profession and being a hygienist because she finds it very rewarding to educate patients on their oral health and help them feel good about their smiles. Like many of our team members, Lindsey wears several hats and also holds certifications in laser dentistry and nitrous oxide sedation.

Outside of work, Lindsey has been married to her husband Brandon since 2011. They have three children and three Labradors who keep them very busy. In her free time, she enjoys going to her son’s baseball games, baking with her oldest daughter, and watching her youngest daughter ride her bike and play in the mud. She and her husband also like to barbeque and walk to the lake. 


Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Kayla attended Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, Colorado, where she received her associate's degree in dental hygiene. She continued on to earn her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from the same college in 2018. During college, Kayla participated in many public health events, which earned her the Colgate STAR award for her dedication and volunteerism related to the profession of dental hygiene.

Kayla has been a member of Temple Dental Trails since 2020 and enjoys work with an amazing team that truly cares about the profession. She loves dentistry because she finds it rewarding to help patients achieve the smile they want and educate them on how their oral health impacts their overall health. As a child, she loved going to the dentist and chose to become a dental hygienist to help create positive experiences for her patients. 

Born in Temple, Texas, Kayla grew up in Fort Hood and has lived in the area for most of her life. In her spare time, Kayla and her husband Tim are avid travelers and share a love of the outdoors. Kayla also enjoys hiking with her dogs, fishing, camping, and going to the gym.

Jalania attended Temple College, where she received her associate’s degree in dental hygiene, then joined Temple Dental Trails in 2020. In addition to being a registered dental hygienist, Jalania received the STAR Colgate (Student Total Achievement Recognition) Award from the Temple College Dental Hygiene Program.

Jalania loves working in the field of dentistry because she finds it very rewarding to help patients gain confidence in their smiles. She likes to spend time connecting with each patient as an individual and educating them on the importance of their oral health and how it relates to their overall health.

A native of Temple, Texas, Jalania is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two teenagers, Jackson and Elizabeth. In her free time, she enjoys watching her kids’ activities, including music and sports. On the weekends, the family enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time together.


Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Lindsey graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and is also nitrous oxide certified. Having grown up in a family of dentists and hygienists and knowing the impact orthodontics had on her life, Lindsey chose dentistry to help others in the same way.

She finds it extremely rewarding to see the confidence a healthy smile can bring to someone and the positive impact it can have on their life. As a dental hygienist, Lindsey especially enjoys the one-on-one time she spends with each patient individually. Her goal is to make the dental experience comfortable for her patients so they can enjoy a healthy lifelong smile without fear and anxiety.

Lindsey is a native of Belton, Texas, and she and her husband, Jarrett, have a two-year-old son, Warren, who keeps them on their toes! They also have two German shorthaired pointers and a Pekingese that entertains them with their high energy levels.

The family loves spending time outdoors, and you will rarely find them indoors in their free time. Their favorite activity as a family is going hiking and camping at our gorgeous national parks!

Alexandra joined Temple Dental Trails in 2016. She loves making her patients feel comfortable during their time with us as well as seeing the dramatic changes in their smiles and confidence. She has been in the dental field since 2013, and we are happy to have her on our team.

Alex grew up in the Temple area and graduated from Rogers High School. She received her registered dental assistant license from Texas State Technical College in Waco, where she made the Dean’s list. Alex stays current with continuing education courses and enjoys learning as much as she can.

When she’s not busy helping our patients, Alex enjoys being a mother, working out and spending time with her family and friends.

Haley is a native of Temple, TX and is a graduate of Temple Dental Assistant School. She has been working in the field of dentistry since 2017.

Haley believes that a smile says a lot about an individual, and it is usually the first thing people notice. She wants her patients to achieve their personal goals in life and believes that having a healthy, beautiful smile can help.

As a mom to two beautiful boys, Jase and Clayton, Haley doesn’t have much free time! But when she does, she and her fiancé love fishing and camping with their boys and with friends who also have boys. Haley and her fiancé also belong to a pool league team that meets for practice and tournaments on their free nights.


Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Aspen attended Temple College and received her Associate of Arts in 2011. She moved to Colorado, where she attended Everest College in Colorado Springs for her assistant training and started working in the dental field in 2012.

In 2014, Aspen moved back to her hometown of Temple. She started working as a registered dental assistant in 2015 and loves everything about her job, especially helping people enhance their overall health by improving their oral health. 

Aspen's family and friends mean everything to her, and she enjoys spending free time with them and her fur baby, Atlas. She also likes the outdoors and anything to do with the water, whether it’s a lake, river, ocean, or pool. In the fall and winter, she enjoys going hunting with her dad and brother. 


Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Jennifer has worked in the dental field since 2006 and joined Temple Dental Trails in 2022. She attended technical college for her dental assistant training and is certified in CPR.

Jennifer chose to work in dentistry because she loves interacting with patients. She finds the diversity of the job very enjoyable and loves how no two days are the same. The most satisfying aspect is educating patients on their dental needs and watching the changes as their oral health improves, along with their outlook on life. For Jennifer, it’s very rewarding to watch patients overcome their fear and smile confidently again because they aren’t ashamed of their teeth.

A native of Paola, Kansas, Jennifer is married to her husband, Kevin, who is retired from the US Army. His army career brought them to Texas from Kansas in 2012, and after retiring, they decided to make Texas their forever home.

The couple’s family includes three grown children, one grandson, two dogs, and three cats. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys crocheting, reading, and spending time with family.

Madison graduated from UT Health San Antonio, where she qualified as a Registered Dental Assistant and holds an Adult/Pediatric CPR certificate. This is her first year in dentistry, but she has a wealth of medical knowledge, having held a license in medical assisting, CNA, scribing, and working as a pharmacy technician.

Madison joined our team in 2022 and finds it very rewarding to help people feel more confident and improve their overall health. She particularly enjoys the positive environment and working with a wonderful group of people who love and care so much for others.

Outside dentistry, Madison and her fiancé, Bailey, have a one-year-old daughter named London and a golden retriever. They enjoy mini-day trips around Texas with their daughter in their free time. They also love participating in golf tournaments, and in the summer, you’ll find them wakeboarding, surfing, or taking their dog fishing at the creek.


Front Desk Leadership

Mildred has been working in the dental industry for 13 years. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Political Science. Growing up Mildred was an Army brat and her family moved around a lot. She enjoys encouraging her team members and patients to be the best version of themselves. Mildred is married to her husband Michael of 21 years. They have two children Noah and Sarah. In her spare time, Mildred enjoys reading personal development books to better herself working to be a better person tomorrow than she was the day before. She also enjoys hiking when the weather is nice enough to allow her to spot some birds. 


Treatment Coordinator

Luz is from Cameron, TX, and has worked in dental offices for the past 5 years. Luz enjoys being able to help patients feel better about themselves and helping them understand their insurance coverage which makes their visit easy and less stressful! Luz's favorite part about the job is when a patient leaves their office and says how much they love their new smile. In her free time, Luz enjoys relaxing and spending time with her family. 


Patient Coordinator

Felicia started in dentistry in 2019, working in a pediatric dental office. She joined Temple Dental Trails in 2022 and enjoys every minute spent learning new things about general dentistry. She loves the amazing work environment at TDT, where she can contribute her opinion and feel appreciated and heard. 

Felicia's goal is to greet everyone who walks through our doors with a big, happy smile. She enjoys playing a part in helping a patient feel better and more confident about their smile and their oral health. She says it’s a fantastic feeling to hear all the “thank yous” and see how a patient’s day has turned around, even with just a cleaning. 

A native of Belton, Texas, Felicia recently married her loving husband, Thomas, and together they raise their son, Thomas Matteo. She spends every spare minute of her free time with family, whether going to a movie, out for dinner, or to the park.



A native of Belton, Texas, Angela received her training at Waco Dental Assistant School and is CPR certified. We were pleased to welcome Angela to our Temple Dental Trails family in early 2022.

Angela loves working in dentistry and experiencing the boost of happiness patients feel after they’ve completed dental work or even after a simple teeth cleaning. Their smile is what matters most, and for Angela, helping someone feel confident in their oral health and appearance is what dentistry is all about. 

Angela has a beautiful two-year-old daughter and enjoys spending free time with family or doing something creative in her craft room. 

Community Involvement

Temple Dental Trails is committed to improving the lives of our community through world-class dentistry as well as supporting local organizations that mean the most to us and our neighbors. From smile makeovers to collecting donations to stepping up when the need is there, our team and patients meet the need when asked. We look forward to these projects and we hope you enjoy seeing our team involved in the community as much as we enjoy supporting Bell County.


Since 2016, Dr. Rich has offered scholarships to high school seniors in Temple and the surrounding communities to help them achieve their higher education dreams. Students must submit an essay describing how they plan to use their education to make a positive and lasting impact in the community in which they plan to live.

College scholarships not only help financially but allow students to focus on their studies and give them the honor to add to their resumes, showing achievement to their peers and future employers. Temple Dental Trails is a proud supporter of the annual Food for Families drive every November. Since 2015, our team and patients have collected non-perishable and monetary donations for the folks in the Temple, Texas community. All donations are split equally among four local Temple food pantries, St Vincent De Paul of Greater Temple, Inc, Love of Christ Food Pantry, Taylor's Valley Baptist Church, and Churches Touching Lives for Christ to help individuals and families that need it most. Food for Families is the biggest one-day food drive in Texas and this commitment to help our community is very important to us.

We are fortunate to be able to give to this local cause and look forward filling our local pantries each Thanksgiving.




Each Christmas the Temple Dental Trails team and patients collect toys for the Temple Police Department's Operation Blue Santa Program to give to kids in our community. Together with the generosity of our team, patients and the Temple Police Department, we can help make Christmas a little extra special for local kids. 




PROJECT SMILEProject Smile 2020

The goal of Project Smile is to have a positive impact on individuals in our community by giving them the smile of their dreams. Candidates are chosen each year from submitted entries to receive a complimentary exam, digital x-rays, and cleaning.
